Deadweird - It’s how Deadwood does Halloween
Come celebrate Halloween in Deadwood. Deadweird is a little crazy, a little spooky, and a WHOLE lot of fun! Make plans for the 14th annual Monster Ball on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026 with a live band and dancing; and the annual Costume Contest with more than $5,000 in cash and prizes for the best costumes on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. Come in costume or just come to watch – it is quite the sight!

Live music, People’s Choice Costume Contest, Dancing & FUN! People’s Choice winners will be announced at 9:00 pm. Must be present to win. Additional door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. MUST BE 21+ TO PARTICIPATE. $10 cover charge at the door or online at EventBrite.

Register for the contest at the Historic Franklin Hotel. Judging in the Franklin Hotel from 6-9 pm. All participants must register prior to judging and pay $5 entry fee per person, CASH ONLY. Winners are announced at 9:30 pm on the stage in the Historic Franklin Hotel. Music & Dancing from 6 pm-10 pm at the Historic Franklin. $5,000 in Cash & Prizes! MUST BE 21+ TO PARTICIPATE.

DEADWOOD HALLOWEEN EVENTS FOR UNDER 21
Trunk or Treat – October 31 – All Ages Welcome
Enjoy family-friendly trick or treating in Deadwood on Saturday, October 31 outdoors at the Days of ’76 Event Complex – Trunk or Treat – All are welcome!
Treats from trunks of vehicles will be served from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m on Halloween Day.
The Deadwood Chamber is looking for individuals and businesses that would like to give out candy at the Days of ’76 Event Complex for Trunk or Treat. Those interested should plan to be at the Event Complex to be parked by 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. Call the Chamber at 605-578-1876 to sign up. Any business that is unable to participate but would still like to donate candy to be given away is encouraged to contact the Chamber for pickup/deliver arrangements.
KidWeird Halloween event – October 31 – For ages 12 and under
The Deadwood Chamber of Commerce and NeighborWorks® Dakota Home Resources will hold the 26th annual KidWeird Halloween event on October 31st from 5 – 8 PM. (Location TBD) Trick or Treating, Music, Games, and Costume Contest. As always, the event is free to all. Invite your friends. The more the merrier and scarier.
