Join us for the next Deep Talks where representatives from Fermilab and Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) will provide an inside look at the ongoing construction of the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility/Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (LBNF/DUNE)—a flagship international project hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fermilab.
The presentation will highlight the remarkable engineering behind assembling the massive cryostats that will house DUNE’s detectors, with a special focus on how crews transport these components nearly a mile underground through the Ross Shaft at SURF.
How to attend:
Deep Talks will be held at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center (160 W. Main Street) in Lead, South Dakota. The event begins at 5 p.m. MT with a social hour, featuring a beer tasting from Crow Peak Brewing Company (21+ only) and light refreshments. Speaker presentations will begin at 6 p.m. MT.
