PRCA “Back When They Bucked” is back for its sixth consecutive year, May 24, 2026.
PRCA “Back When They Bucked” is back for its sixth consecutive year, May 24, 2026. We are looking forward to hosting this Elite Event again in the unique, rustic, old west setting of the Days of 76 Event Complex, Deadwood, SD. The Western Legacy Foundation Continues to strive to raise and donate funds back to the youth of Western South Dakota. This better enables our fundraising efforts, as well as continues to grow community involvement in this event for many years to come.
You will witness some of the best up and coming South Dakota rodeo talent who will be competing for scholarships that will be held during the PRCA Xtreme Bronc Riding. This is a Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) sanctioned Saddle Bronc Match featuring thirty-two cowboys competing in the long go-round with the eight highest scores advancing to the short-round. Short-round cowboys will be vying for the title and prize money over $25,000. Winnings at this event will count towards their earnings to advance to the Wrangler National Finals. It all happens on Sunday Funday!
This full day of action will feature live music with vendors and activities to enjoy!

The Western Legacy Foundation Board of Directors and volunteers are dedicated to the mission of

“Back When They Bucked” is an affordable entertainment event for all ages. The proceeds from the May 24th event will help to support the Western Legacy Foundation fundraising efforts and will allow for the continued support of scholarships, rural assistance and services in their communities.
