Kool Deadwood Nites brings car lovers together for six days full of classic cars, classic music and classic fun. It’s a 50’s and 60’s sock hop – Deadwood style. Enjoy a parade, show and shine and FREE concerts on Main Street featuring the biggest names in rock ‘n roll history.

2024 Information

Your vehicle must be a ’73 or older to register. Registration will remain open during the event through Friday, August 23.
Pre-registration packets will be mailed in May 2024 to those who registered a car in 2023. We will continue to mail packets through mid-August 2024. If you would like one, please call 605-578-1876. Walk-up registration will be available at the event through Friday evening, August 23.
To receive the early bird discount the registration fee must be paid by August 1, 2024.
New in 2024! An additional day of activities, live entertainment, show & shine and registration on Tuesday, August 20!
New in 2024! Lunch for registered car owners in Sturgis on Wednesday.
Car registration cost: $80 before August 1, 2024; $100 after August 1, 2024
Registration for 2024 Kool Deadwood Nites will be held throughout the event at the Deadwood’s Welcome Center! 501 Main Street, Deadwood, S.D. 57732.
Kool Deadwood Nites registered cars ONLY will have a section of the Lower Main Street parking lot (location of the new Welcome Center, where registration will be held) Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 21-24, 2024. Of course, registrants can continue to park throughout the event at the History and Information Center too (August 22-24, 2024. PENDING CITY COMMISSION APPROVAL

The City of Deadwood Police Department asks that you please refrain from doing Burn-Outs during the parade on Sunday.
The Main Street Entertainment entertainment will be announced in February 2024.
NEW in 2023 and continuing in 2024, driving poker runs on Thursday, walking poker runs on Saturday. Poker Run Awards for all routes are still on Saturday.
Free Parking & Shuttle Sponsored by the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety: Shuttles operate on Thursday, August 22; Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24. NEW parking shuttle from Lead, pickups at the Lead-Deadwood High School (320 South Main Street, Lead) and Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center (160 West Main Street) and drops off at the Deadwood Fire Station (737 Main Street). Operating times for the Lead shuttle will be announced soon. Ride the shuttle from Cedar Rose Spa (1 mile north of Deadwood, 11842 Hwy 14a) to the Deadwood Welcome Center (501 Main Street). Operating times for the spa shuttle are 11am to 10pm each day. No trailer parking at shuttle sites.
Free Trolley Rides sponsored by BID 8 and BIDs 1-6: August 20 through August 25. The Trolley operates in Deadwood City limits. Please note, the trolley doesn’t drop off in the concert area on Main Street. Board the trolley at the Deadwood Welcome Center or south of the Silverado, across the street from the Deadwood Elementary (716 Main Street).
Deadwood Alive will present the Trial of Jack McCall on Tuesday, August 20. The Stagecoach Rides will not be available during the Main Street closure.
KDN Trolley: Beginning August 21^st the Half-hour trolley will pick up people from the Slag Pile 35 minutes after each hour and the North Express Trolley (when it’s running ) will pick up at the Slag Pile approximately twice per hour but will depend on traffic flow.

10 a.m. – 2 p.m: 16th Annual Rod Run – Registered classic cars only. Two options (departing from the Days of ’76 Rodeo Grounds), choose from an escorted tour through Spearfish or Vanocker Canyon. The Spearfish Canyon route includes a final stop at Carsten’s Cottages with food and entertainment. TENTATIVE: Vanocker itinerary includes a final stop at Full Throttle Saloon & Campground, food, and entertainment. Both Rod Runs leave from the Days of ‘76 Rodeo Grounds at 10:00 a.m. and lineup begins at 9:00 a.m.
2 p.m. – Deadwood Alive Shootout at Outlaw Square
